R.C.T. Teeth

12/05/03

You have pain in your tooth after R.C.T. was done ?

The rate of Root Canal Treatment success is around 94% however in some cases there might be some pain or infection following the root canal treatment indicating it's failure.

Have a check up done at your dentists clinic for the best diagnosis and treatment however, the most probable treatment options are as following:

  1. Redoing the root canal treatment by reopening the cavity and removing all filling material and refilling it.

  2. Apicectomy (cutting the apical 1/3 of the root of the tooth after exposing it through a surgical flap) after removing all dead tissues in that area, it is common to redo the R.C.T. at the time of Apicectomy.

  3. Hemi section ( cutting out one root or more from the tooth) is done when only one of the roots has a failure in the R.C.T.

  4. Extracting the tooth is the last option when all the above options have failed.
